FLOW-3D WELD

  FLOW-3D WELD is a dedicated metal joining and welding simulation tool that helps engineers and researchers optimize their designs through studying the process on the layer scale. It enables the user to do the following:

•  Access a wide range of fully-defined materials,
•  Examine melt pool dynamics,
•  Gain total control over heat source’s shape, size, velocity, power, and path,
•  Include more than one material (i.e., dissimilar metals welding),
•  Model multi-pass welds,
•  Predict microstructural changes (exclusive for irons, steels, and aluminum alloys),
•  Predict process-related defects (e.g., keyholes and porosities), and
•  Study liquid-solid interactions.
